About Coach

I have a BSBA with a concentration in Marketing from West Virginia University and I am currently in the process of completing a Health Science and Fitness certificate program at Wake Tech Community College.  I am an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified personal trainer and have instructed group exercise for the past 12 years with a certification through the American Fitness and Aerobics Association (AFAA).

From a young age, I developed an unhealthy relationship with self-image and self-confidence, that later developed into an unhealthy relationship with food, and excessive running during my twenty’s.

After becoming a mother at 33 a total mindset shift happened within me and a combination of learning how to eat, lifting weights again, and deciding to compete as a bikini fitness athlete literally changed my entire outlook on fitness, and how I felt overall.

I had originally decided to compete not only to challenge myself but to also compete alongside my father. I witnessed how he got back into shape in his mid-to-late 40s and then went on to compete in a handful of bodybuilding competitions.

I was introduced to the world of fitness as a teenager going to Gold’s Gym with my dad in Fairfax, VA, taking weight training classes during my junior and senior years of high school, and playing lacrosse.

Fitness is no longer about being the skinniest; instead, it’s about mindset and continuing to move with ease in life. Movement and taking care of ourselves is truly our medicine to God-willing live long and die short.

Motivation & Passion

My goal as a trainer is to instill that it is ok to strike a balance in life (eat mostly unprocessed), love who you are, fitness is a journey, not a destination, and any movement beats no movement at all. Impassioned to serve those who have the genuine desire to better themselves and work through me to achieve their personalized goals. As an almost 48-year-old woman, I want to guide others who are also entering or have entered, their peri-or-post menopausal stage of life. My passion is "fun"ctional training, another words strength training for other muscular and healthy benefits (if your goal isn't solely to get jacked or swole), that's combined with the sweat from cardio.
